Use MengBot at work
Sign in with your organization to use the AI models your company provides, alongside your own.
If your company uses OpenMeng Admin, you can sign the desktop app in to your organization. Your bots can then use the AI models your company approved. This is optional: MengBot works without any account, and signing in changes nothing you already set up.
What stays yours
Company models are added alongside your own engines, accounts and local models, which stay available. Connecting does not upload your chat history. Requests you send to a Company model go through your organization's gateway.
Before you start
- Install the desktop app on this computer. See Installation.
- Ask your administrator to invite your work email address. You sign in with exactly that address.
- Start in the app.
- On first run, the Your engines step shows "Using MengBot at work? Sign in with your organization." Choose Sign in.
- Any time later, open Settings → Organization and choose Sign in with your organization.
- A link from your administrator that opens MengBot takes you straight to Settings → Organization.
- Finish in your browser. The app opens the Admin sign-in page. Sign in with your invited work address; Admin emails you a six-digit code.
- Check the code. The page shows a code for this computer. The app shows the same code: in the welcome flow next to "Finish in your browser", and in Settings → Organization under Security details. If they match, approve the connection.
- Back in the app, the connection completes by itself. The welcome flow shows how many Company models your organization approved.
The sign-in page is valid for ten minutes. If it expires, start again from the app. To stop a sign-in you started by mistake, choose Cancel sign-in.
Use a Company model
Company models appear in each bot's model picker as Company · your organization · Claude, Codex or OpenRouter. Nothing switches automatically: choose a Company entry for each bot that should use it.
- Company Claude and Company Codex run through the Claude Code and Codex engines, so that engine must be installed on this computer. Install it the same way as a personal engine (see Agent engines); you do not need to sign in to a personal account or have a personal subscription.
- Company OpenRouter needs nothing extra.
If you only have Company models, the welcome flow's engines step reads "Everything is ready". Your own engines stay listed below it as optional.
Another Admin address
Most organizations use the standard Admin address. If your administrator gave you a different one:
- In the welcome flow, choose Other Admin address. This opens Settings → Organization.
- In Settings → Organization, open Advanced, enter the address under Custom Admin portal URL, and choose Sign in to custom Admin.
Disconnect
Open Settings → Organization, choose Disconnect…, then Disconnect from organization. Company models stop on this computer. Your chats, personal accounts and local models remain, and Company turns never switch to your personal billing.
If the app says Company access needs a new sign-in, open Settings → Organization and follow what it says there.
If something goes wrong
- No code arrives. Codes only go to invited addresses. Check your spam folder and the spelling, or ask your administrator to invite exactly the address you use.
- "No company models are available yet." Your organization has not approved any models for you. Ask your administrator.
- Can't find the Organization section. It is in Settings on the packaged desktop app, not in a web browser.
- Windows says "Unknown publisher". See Installation for the SmartScreen note.
Hosted team installations
Some organizations give you a link to a shared, hosted installation for your team instead. It runs in your browser, so there is nothing to install. Sign in through the invitation your administrator sent. The first time you open it, a short note explains that bots, chats and files there are shared with your team. Administrators get a short welcome instead, which ends by naming the first bot.
